By law all
persons driving on our roads must have insurance to cover damage to
third party persons or property.
Types
of cover available
Comprehensive:
Offers the widest cover,
includes repairs to your vehicle, personal belongings and medical
expenses following an accident.
Third
Party Fire & Theft:
Covers liability to others and
covers your vehicle for theft and if it catches fire. Some insurers
allow windscreen cover at additional premium. No cover for your vehicle
if involved in an accident.
Third
Party only:
Covers liability to others only.
There is no cover for your vehicle at all.
Insurance
is calculated using the following factors
|
Drivers' age and driving
experience, claims, convictions
Drivers' employment or occupation
The type of car: family saloon or a sports car for instance
Area that the car is garaged
How often the car is used and for what
|
Your own insurance will more than
likely also cover you to drive other cars on a third party only basis.
If you want comprehensive cover, you can arrange this through your
insurance adviser. However, some policies may restrict driving by others.
The Policy details
the complete terms and conditions of your motor insurance.
No claims discount
Policyholders with a claim free record qualify for a premium discount.
This is dependent on the number of years claim free. Maximum discount is
65%
If a driver has maximum bonus, "Protected Bonus" policies are also available.
This allows up to 2 claims in 3 years without losing this discount.
Can I take my car abroad
Although all UK motor policies provide the minimum cover required by law
in other EEU countries it is always advisable to contact us before you travel
in order we can arrange for insurers to supply a Green Card. This is an international
proof of insurance which meets local law.
What happens if I
change my vehicle and or job
This can be done at any time. Just contact us and we will be happy to make the changes,
this may result in an amendment to your
premium.
Any changes to your circumstances and or your car should be reported to
us as soon as possible, such as a change of job, conviction or
disability.
